sista friend

My little sister graduated from high school last month.
Aren't we the sweetest?

...and here we are on graduation day...
There aren't many sweeter things in the world than having a little sister. You can't hide from them, and why would you ever want to? Natalie has a heart bigger than anyone I know, and much more patience than I can even begin to pretend to have. She's going to Georgia State in the fall & whatever she decides to do, I know she'll be great because she never does it any other way.

whatever happened, happened.

I'm currently in the process of writing an 8-10 page paper for my religion and communication class. It's about the TV show LOST, probably definitely my favorite show of all time. I watched the first episode over Winter Break in 2006. When my mom & dad bought me & my sister the new iPod videos, I downloaded all of season 1 & 2 and watched it in Italy on that tiny screen. From then on, Lost was my obsession. Yeah, I was that person that would go on to lostpedia and wait anxiously for EW's Doc Jensen's analysis of the latest episode. Then the discussions I'd have with Wheatley and the J. Crew the next day were just great.

Now, I sit here almost a year after the series ended, at a figurative brick wall, trying to write a paper about the Religious Themes in Lost and what it means for modern day spirituality. Lost epitomized the bumper sticker I have on my car that says "we're all connected". It made me laugh, and cry, and think, and learn and feel like an active participate in a genre of passive retention.

Oh, and also, Jack Shepard aka Matthew Fox is so freakin' cute.

So I'm going to finish writing this paper by tomorrow, then study for my Tuesday final and that ladies & gentlemen is the end of sophomore year. My goodness, where did the days go? I'll complete my ode to 2010/2011 when I get back to Marietta on Wednesday and have time to reflect on how it's all gone down.

new layout, new attitude

It took me a few hours, but I finally got the layout of my blog to be how I wanted. I was thinking about changing the title, but I like "Lions, Tigers & Clare". It will help remind me of why I started the whole thing in the first place, Tanzania, duh. The fonts are still a little rustic. The yellow (or marigold as I recently saw in InStyle) is just an awesome color and apparently all the rage for summer.

TaTa for now.

make me an artist

Ok, i'm not even going to pretend I call myself an artist, but the idea of this little paintbrush makes me super excited. My family bought an iPad earlier this month and I haven't gotten to really use it, but they're loving it. We skyped on it the other night. I wish they'd buy me one!

Anyway, so check out this video. The concept of this website is really awesome, Kickstarter allows people with great ideas and concepts to find backers to fund their projects. About 3 days ago, the Flow only had about $3,500 pledged to fund it. Now, it's up to $5,452!
